Indian Navy's INS Visakhapatnam rescues Cargo vessel from drone attack in Gulf of Aden

In a daring mission, the Indian Navy warship INS Visakhapatnam, engaged in anti-piracy operations, successfully responded to a distress call from the Marshall Island-flagged MV Genco Picardy, which came under a drone attack in the Gulf of Aden.

The incident occurred at 11:11 pm on Wednesday, prompting the swift deployment of INS Visakhapatnam to rescue the cargo vessel. Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Controller Personnel Services Indian Navy, emphasized the Navy's commitment to protecting maritime interests by deploying warships in crucial regions, including the Persian Gulf, off Somalia's coast, and the Gulf of Aden.
